Buyers Guides for Auto Dealerships

Dealer Buyers Guides

Buyers Guides are forms used by auto dealerships to communicate to customers what systems of a particular vehicle are covered under warranty and the duration of the coverage. We offer both "As Is" and "Implied" Buyers guides. Depending upon the state your dealership is located in, you will either need to use either an "As Is" or "Implied" format for the buyers guides to comply with the state laws:

  • As Is Buyers Guides - In most states, auto dealerships have the option of selling a used vehicle either in "As Is" condition or with a warranty. "As Is" buyers guides are printed with a series of check boxes where the dealer can indicate whether the vehicle is being sold "As Is," meaning that the vehicle is being sold in its current condition and the customer is responsible for the cost of any repairs or with a "Warranty." When the dealer checks the box indicating that the vehicle is sold with a warranty, they can specify whether it is a full or limited warranty and the extent of the coverage. Some of our forms have lines to list the systems covered, while others are sold without lines. The dealer can write or print the details of the coverage on the lines or the blank area without lines. At the bottom of the form there are additional check boxes to indicate non-dealer warranties such as manufacturer warranties or third party warranties.
  • Implied Buyers Guides - In some states, it is illegal for a dealership to sell a vehicle in "As Is" condition. Instead, those states require that some warranty must be "Implied" even if it is not specifically indicated. These laws are in place to protect consumers. For auto dealerships in these states, we offer Implied Warranty Buyers Guides. On these forms, instead of the usual "As Is" checkbox, there is a checkbox which reads, "Implied Warranties Only." The implied warranty means that the dealer is not offering any specific warranty, however, there may be certain rights afforded to the buyer by state laws that mandate the dealer to repair some serious issues that were not apparent when the customer purchased the vehicle.

We offer a comprehensive selection of buyers guides. Our selection includes the traditional 2-Part Adhesive Tape Buyers Guides, Paper-Backed Buyers Guide Laser Window Labels, Outdoor Application Buyers Guide Laser Window Labels, Hanging Buyers Guides, Custom Printed Buyers Guides, and much more:

  • 2-Part Adhesive Tape Buyers Guides - Traditional 2-part carbonless buyers guide forms that feature adhesive tape on the top and bottom of the first copy to adhere to the inside of the car window for visibility on the outside of the vehicle. The second part of the form can be stored in a file or given to the customer as a record. These forms are offered in "As Is" and "Implied" varieties in both Spanish and English language versions. The "As Is" English Language variety is available with or without lines.
  • Paper-Backed Buyers Guide Laser Window Stickers - Paper-Backed Buyers Guide Laser Window Labels feature an adhesive border for application onto the inside of the vehicle's side window so that the printed side is visible from the outside of the car. This type of buyers guide is quickly overtaking the traditionally buyers guide forms and is becoming the most popular style of buyers guide. These are one-part forms that can be customized in your office laser printer. We offer the Paper Back Buyers Guide Window Stickers in "As Is" and "Implied" varieties in Both English and Spanish. All of the varieties are offered with lines or without lines.
  • Outdoor Application Buyers Guide Laser Window Stickers - Outdoor Application Buyers Guide Laser Window Labels feature an adhesive boarder for application onto the outside of the vehicle's side window. The dealer window stickers are applied to the exterior of vehicle windows. Since they adhere to the exterior of the vehicle as opposed to the interior like traditionally adhesive tape buyers guides and paper back buyers guide stickers, there is no concern about damaging after market tinted windows. These forms are offered in "As Is" and "Implied" varieties in Both English and Spanish. All of the varieties are offered with or without lines.
  • Hanging Buyers Guides - Hanging buyers guides are 2-part forms that feature a large 1-1/8" hole for hanging on the rearview mirror of the vehicle. These forms also come with 2 permanent adhesive strips on the top and bottom of the first copy to offer the option of display on the inside of the vehicle's side window. These forms are offered in "As Is" and "Implied" varieties, both of which have no lines.

Regardless of your auto dealership's needs, we have the buyers guide for you. Choosing the correct buyers guide can be a complicated process with all of the options. If you need assistance, please reach out to us by phone, chat, or email and we will be happy to help you make the best selection.

Up-to-Date Buyers Guides

In 2017, the Federal Trade Commission announced final amendments updating the the Used Car Rule by revising the Buyers Guides that must be displayed on a used vehicle before it is displayed for sale or a customer is allowed to inspect it for final purchase. All of our buyers guides are up-to-date and will satisfy the current legal requirements for car dealerships in the United States.

Custom Buyers Guides

We can custom print buyers guides to meet the specific personalized requirements of your dealership. We offer custom printing on our Paper-Backed Laser Window Labels, Outdoor Application Laser Window Labels, and Clear Back Laser Window Labels. The Paper Backed and Clear Back options both adhere to the inside of the vehicle's side window for visibility on the outside of the vehicle, while the Outdoor Application lasers are made from a special weather-resistant material that adheres to the outside of the window, which is advantageous since they are easier to read and do not interfere with aftermarket inside window tinting. We utilize full color digital printing on our custom buyers guides, which means we can print an unlimited number of colors and can even print complex shading patterns and photographic imagery at no additional cost.
